Tour Plan :

01
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Arrival at Marrakech airport. Transfer and check-in at your hotel. Free day depending on your flight schedule. Travel time: 20 minutes (4 km) Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel

02
Day 2: The Caravan Trail

From Marrakech, you'll quickly tackle the remarkable climb to the Tizi n'Tichka pass, at an altitude of 2,260 meters. After crossing the pass, you'll descend towards Ouarzazate through the Ounila Valley, one of the most beautiful in the Atlas Mountains. A stop is a must to visit a Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon arriving in Ouarzazate (a name that evokes the South), continue on to Skoura, a beautiful palm grove that boasts the highest concentration of earthen Kasbahs in the country. Walking time: 1 hour. Driving time: 5 hours (240 km). Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner. Overnight stay in a guesthouse in the palm grove.

03
Day 3: Valley of Roses, Dadès Valley and Saghro Mountains

From Skoura, you reach the Valley of Roses ; a short detour is highly recommended, especially during the flowering season (mid/late April). Then you descend into the Dadès Valley before continuing towards the Saghro, one of the last mountain ranges before the great Saharan "hamadas." It offers a diverse and wild landscape where only a few villages bear witness to human presence. Your journey at over 2,200 meters altitude is a constant source of wonder: dark, jagged rocks, steep, rugged valleys—you are at the end of the world! Travel time: 3 hours (130 km) Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner Night in a bivouac

04
Day 4: The Drâa Valley

From the Saghro massif, you descend towards the wadis and palm groves, the riches of the South. One of the longest "rivers," the Draa , would sometimes reach the ocean if the floods weren't held back by dams. The date palm is its main resource. This valley has been, since time immemorial, a caravan route linking sub-Saharan Africa to the Maghreb. The Haratin, Jewish, Arab, and Berber populations have always lived side by side, sustaining this magnificent region. Each community has its own activities, essential to the survival of all in these areas nestled in the heart of the desert. Walking time: 2 to 3 hours Driving time: 2h30 (130 km) Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner Overnight stay in a guesthouse in the valley.

05
Day 5: The Chegaga Sand Dunes

From our vantage point in the valley, you finish your descent of the Drâa wadi via the scenic route that ends in the great Erg of Chegaga . From M'Hamid , the last village at the end of the road, you head off-road to tackle the great southern Ergs and reach the highest and most extensive, the Erg of Chegaga . Leaving M'Hamid, you'll encounter small dunes and a few scattered palm, acacia, and tamarisk trees. Then the landscape becomes increasingly desert-like: ergs composed of dune ridges and veritable mountains of sand stretching as far as the eye can see. Take advantage of the late afternoon light for a pleasant walk through the dunes and admire the last rays of sunlight atop these sand mountains. Walking time: 3 hours Travel time: 2 hours (100 km) Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner "Bivouac lost in the middle of the dunes"

06
Day 6: Among the Berbers of Siroua

An early start to enjoy these magical places. A beautiful morning crossing numerous ergs to arrive in the vast "Iriki plain", an ancient dried-up lake. At Foum-z-Guid, you'll find a small road winding north. After passing the small town of Tazenakht , at the foot of the ancient Siroua volcano , you'll turn off to spend the night with a local family in a small village. Enjoy some wonderful moments sharing with your Berber friends! You'll discover the culture of saffron, the region's main source of wealth. Walking time: 2 hours Driving time: 4 hours (260 km) Meals included: breakfast, lunch, dinner Overnight stay with a local resident.

07
Day 7: Fortified granaries and crossing the Atlas Mountains

The Siroua region boasts the most beautiful fortified stone granaries. The riches of the ancient nomads found refuge in these superb granaries, with their remarkable architecture. They are mostly perched or nestled on a rocky outcrop. They are built of stone, very little of it rammed earth, using stones from the surrounding area. They blend perfectly into the landscape. You will certainly want to visit one. The villages also house weaving workshops where the region's renowned carpets are made. Your southern route then closes a short distance from the Tizi n'Tichka pass . Descent towards Marrakech and arrival in the late afternoon. Walking time: 2 hours. Driving time: 4 hours (220 km). Meals included: breakfast, lunch. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.
